January has arrived, and with it, work begins on Phase 3 of the Bible Tags project!

This phase includes:
  • Optional user authentication
  • Integrate manuscript variants and basic original language search
  • Give users ability to contribute tags
  • Build out server logic for vetting tag contributions
  • Help launch as Biblearc’s new Bible Tags based app suite (will serve as “proof of concept” in partner development)
  • Open-source release of all code with instructions for contributing
What does this all add up to? Answer: Our first release of a working Bible Tags app suite!
Yes, it will have minimal features. Yes, it will be a beta version with some bugs still needing to be worked out. Yes, we will yet need to seek out key partners and set up Bible societies and other organizations to launch their own app suites. (Those items will be addressed in phases 4 and 5, Lord-willing.) But still...finishing the core development of an app suite and backend server that make a huge leap toward our vision is incredibly exciting.

What, again, is that vision?

Our Vision

It is our goal to see that every Christian worldwide would have free access to the Bible, tagged to the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, with parsing and lexical information—all in their own language.
So please pray for us as Phase 3 begins. We need the Lord’s help! In particular, please pray:
  1. For God to protect our work from being hindered by unforeseen troubles that Satan will surely throw at us.
  2. For the wisdom to program with foresight and understanding.
  3. For God to prepare the partnerships and pastors worldwide to use this project in the upcoming phases.
  4. For hearts of worship as we work.
